SABUDANA PARATHA MEAL | Navratri special recipe #4 | Navratri Fasting Recipes | How to cook for Navratri VRAT | Stepwise Pictures|Glutenfree Vegan Recipe


Hi Supermoms,

In India, the festival of'  Navratri' is celebrated with great enthusiasm. 

In North India, during all the nine days, Fasting or VRAT is observed and No-Grain Diet is strictly followed. 

 The VRAT is very healthy and acts as a 'De-tox' to the body.

People taking the fast are on fruits and liquid diet during the day and after their evening pooja and VRAT BHOG, have it as their dinner.

Through my 'NAVRATRI SPECIAL' Bhog Ideas, I have tried to make a balanced, healthy, low calorie, Glutenfree menu for you. I have also taken special effort to create a menu that requires less cooking  time and effort.



Sabudana Paratha Meal :

SABUDANA PARATHAS
COCONUT CHUTNEY
SAMA RICE KHEER
CURD
BANANA

Preparation Time : 6 hours ( includes soaking and draining of tapioca pearls)
Cooking time : 30 minutes
Serves :2
Measurement : 1 Cup = 250 ml

SABUDANA PARATHAS:


Ingredients:

1 Cup Soaked and drained Sabudana/Tapioca pearls
1 Medium sized Potato, Boiled and mashed
2 small green chillies
1/2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
1 to 2 teaspoon finely chopped/grated fresh coconut
1 teaspoon powdered roasted Peanut powder
1 teaspoon oil 
Rock salt to taste



METHOD:

1. Mix all the above ingredients in a bowl, apply little pressure and knead to make a dough.


2. Grease your hands and take small portions of the dough and flatten it using your palms. Heat a non stick tawa/skillet ,brush little oil on the tawa and place the parathas on them. Let them cook on both sides.


4. The parathas should be uniformly browned on both sides. You can see me make Sama Kheer on the other gastop.


Your Glutenfree Vegan parathas are ready to be served hot.


These were absolutely delicious, low calorie, healthy  and was enjoyed by each and everyone in the family!!!
Why only Vadas, these Sabudana Parathas are equally tasty!!
